CVAT - Community and Voluntary Action Tameside

Since early 2011, the Boards of T3SC and Volunteer Centre Tameside have been considering how the two organisations can work closer together in future to support voluntary and community action in Tameside.
The world around us is changing, and communities and voluntary and community groups face a huge set of challenges over the next few years. Both VCT and T3SC are successful organisations, but we believe that by coming together we can make 1+1=3, and provide an improved level of support to volunteers, voluntary and community groups. CVAT will allow us to be more effective and by working together more efficient and make best use of the resources and funding we have.

At our ‘Challenges, Change and Collaboration’
event, in December 2011, the members of T3SC and VCT were presented with proposals to form a new, joint organisation, Community and Voluntary Action Tameside and agreed them unanimously. The legal forms of both VCT and T3SC will dissolve into the new organisation once it is up and running, which we expect will be in late Spring 2012.
