Giving the 3rd sector a voice

Ben GilchristManager Policy and Participation Team
Ben Gilchrist

Since 2002 Voice (the ‘network of networks’) has been a meeting place for all community, voluntary and faith groups. It enables all kinds of Tameside groups and communities to influence key decisions that affect the community and voluntary sector.

‘New’ Voice is the result of a review T3SC has undertaken to ensure that Voice is effective. You have told us that Voice is a great means of gaining information, that people do want to be more involved in

decision making, and that we need to enhance and support the role of your elected representatives.

T3SC has a number of thematic networks you can join that deal specifically with issues affecting different groups:

Black Minority Ethnic

Children and Young People

Crime and Disorder Reduction

Health and Social Care

Interfaith

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered

Older People

Transport

Chief Officers

Free Representatives Training

Skills for Partnerships – Engaging & Empowering
Part of Skilling Up for Stronger Voices – National Training for all third sector representatives from NAVCA

Do you represent a network at a thematic partnership, sub group or at Tameside Strategic Partnership meetings? Or would you be interested in doing so in the future?
  • What is engagement?
  • Why do we get involved?
  • What are the expectations?

These will be covered in this free training on Wednesday 14 April, 12.30pm-4pm (including lunch) at T3SC.

For more information and to book a place: Tel: 0161 339 4985 or email this
