Join the Funky Lizard network!
 
The Funky Lizard Network is unique, in that it brings together all people who provide activities and services for families, children and young people in the voluntary, community or faith (VCF) sector. Our aim is to celebrate the VCF sector, to learn together and to have a voice where decisions are made. The Funky Lizard ensures that the voluntary, community and faith sector has a voice at the Tameside Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership. Anyone can join us at these meetings and find out what the decision makers are saying. If you work with families, children, or young people you can be a member of the Funky Lizard, and the best part is, it’s absolutely free!

  • Free advertising and a stall at events promoting your services.
  • Receive Funky Lizard updates so you can keep up to date with current trends and laws that impact your project.
  • Receive good information and signposting to training opportunities.
  • Have a key point of contact that can help you link in with other people, and enhance your partnership work with other providers, including schools, the council, police and the fire service.

Opportunities to get involved

  • Take part in surveys and discussions - let people know what you think and ensure that representatives have the evidence to guarantee you are heard.
  • Be part of a funding panel - see funding from the other side.
  • Volunteer to help - do something different by volunteering for one off special events or help in our lively and friendly office with specific projects.

Partnership Work in Action booklet 2007-2009 PWA booklet image

 

This booklet tells you about the people in the community, voluntary and faith sector who make a difference to the lives of families, children and young people. It also explains how the Funky Lizard network helps the sector celebrate what it does, how it learns together and how it influences change for the sector and for the people it serves.
