What is the Health and Social Care (HSC) Network?

The HSC network has been supporting health and social care providers from the VCF sector for over six years and the number of members continues to grow.

This network is an opportunity for VCF groups and organisations that provide services in Tameside with a health, wellbeing or a social care focus to come together with the aim of improving the health of their service users, staff and volunteers through the joint impact of the work we are all doing in the VCF sector.

Opportunities for Members

We recognise that third sector service providers are increasingly pressed for time (and resources!) and so encourage members to ‘pick and choose’ the level of commitment they give to the network. Once a month the HSC network has at least one of the following activities for members to get involved in:
  • Meet other VCF, and statutory health, wellbeing and social care service providers.
  • Give, receive and be signposted to support and key contacts.
  • Share best practice.
  • Find out about the work each of us is carrying out in Tameside.
  • Get involved in future decision making processes and events.
  • Receive feedback on the outcomes of strategic decision makers locally that are relevant to the sector in Tameside.
  • Help the network to work towards its priority areas.

Partnership

The network is well regarded by statutory partners in Tameside with whom as a result we enjoy good working relationships. Our previous success and profile in representing the views of the sector mean we are able to offer HSC network members opportunities to represent the network at a range strategic meetings and working groups so that the third sector is able to be proactive in local decision making processes and not reactive.

Health Partnership Board (HPB)

Lesley ConnorThis is the partnership structure that governs health policy in Tameside.  It is made up of key services from all sectors who make decisions about Tameside’s health and how to improve it.  Every 2 years the HSC network elects a representative to this partnership to put forwards the views of the sector and feedback to the network on key policy decisions that affect them and their service users.
