The British Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team of community and youth educators to deliver informal sessions on simple first aid. The role will involve running sessions in simple first aid to diverse groups using informal, fun and creative ways to help them learn.  We are happy to tailor the role to your interest therefore you may wish to work purely with adults or just with children and young people or both! The choice is yours!

If you decide to work with young people there will also be opportunities later in the year to deliver other humanitarian education topics which can include refugee awareness, conflict and disaster role play amongst others. We are looking for people that are available predominantly during the day and are happy for their role to be flexible based upon demand. No prior experience is necessary. We will provide you with a package of training and support to develop your training skills and knowledge of the subject. You should not be out of pocket volunteering for the Red Cross so we will cover your expenses.

If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you why not get in touch to find out more and express an interest.  Please send your name, contact details and a brief note mentioning why you are interested in the role to the email below.  Alternatively you can contact us via phone or apply direct through our website. We will be holding an open evening to give you the opportunity to find out more about the role and meet existing volunteers and staff on Wednesday 1 February, 5pm-7pm at the Manchester office. Please contact us to book your place.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the largest international humanitarian organisation and develop your skills in working with the community and young people as a trainer. Along the way you will meet new people, gain new skills and experiences which will look fantastic on your CV. Above all this role enables you to make a real difference to the lives of other people and giving you that warm feeling inside!
