Casual Workers required for Digital Switchover project  {28 Oct 2009} shimAdd Job42 to Scrapbook

Organisation: Hattersley & Mottram Community Media

Salary: 7.50 per hour

HMCM logo
We are recruiting casual staff for a project we will be doing around the digital TV switchover. We are offering flexible work opportunities either as shifts (morning and afternoons) or an agreed number of hours and the pay will be £7.50 per hour. The project will last for approximately five weeks, two weeks around the first phase of the TV switchover commencing 2nd November and three weeks over the second phase at the end of November, beginning of December.

Some older people are concerned about being unable to retune their TV or digital equipment at the switchover, TMBC’s Partnership for Older People have agreed to fund an emergency response team that will go out following the switchover and retune the TV and digital equipment for people aged 50+.

To ensure we safeguard any vulnerable adults we may come into contact with we need to ensure all members of the response team have been CRB checked. Obviously with the switchover dates quickly approaching there isn’t enough time to have checks done and it is for that reason we are recruiting people who currently volunteer and have already been CRB checked for their voluntary work.

For the first phase of the project we will be delivering the service in Hattersley and Denton South, but in the second phase we will be delivering the service across the whole of Tameside.

If you would have no problem helping people retune their TV equipment and you want to help us ensure no older person in Tameside is left without a TV following the digital TV switchover give us a call on 0161 368 5171 for an informal chat or email info@hmcm.org.uk

Did you know that if you are in receipt of certain benefits you can earn up to
£20 a week without if affecting your benefits.

Action for Children is one of the UK’s largest children’s charities and every year we Action for Children logohelp over 156,000 children, young people and families enjoy a brighter future.
