Part Time Caf Chef Manager at Park Cafe, Hyde   {14 Jun 2013} shim

Organisation: Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind.

Salary: 20,183 per annum (pro rata for 20hrs per week)

20 hours per week to be worked over four days as required, flexible working including weekends and bank holidays, on a permanent Contract

5% pension contribution and 25 days annual leave per year pro rata (Rising to 30 days annual leave pro rata after 5 years’ service)

The part time job is based in the Park Cafe in Hyde Park, Hyde for the majority of the time, however there is a potential for this position to be based at other Topaz Cafes as the need arises.
The role is to work alongside Catering Director and Senior Management team to oversee the management of all aspects of the Park Cafe. This is our latest café, which complements our existing and planned catering ventures. As well as being a busy community café, it will offer Volunteers the opportunity to gain work experience, and learn catering skills to assist them into mainstream employment. There are plans to expand this role and become a catering academy assisting trainees to gain recognised QCF (formerly NVQ) qualifications.

The Café Chef Manager manages the entire food service and café operation. This includes menu planning, ordering and deliveries, kitchen and café cleanliness. The role involves money management, staff, trainee and volunteer management, health and safety management, publicity, food related course development and extra events in the café.
The role focuses on using locally sourced, seasonal, fair trade and, wherever possible, organic ingredients to create meals, snacks and drinks that are high quality, attractive and delicious tasting as well as nourishing. Locally sourced also includes vegetables and fruit from the organisation’s allotment project based in Tameside.

Breastfeeding Telephone Peer Supporter & Administrator   {13 May 2013} shim

Salary: NJC Scale 14 - 17, 15,725 - 16,830 pro rata

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under 5 years of age.  We are currently working in partnership with The Breastfeeding Network (BfN) to deliver a breastfeeding peer support service to new mothers across the Tameside & Glossop area.

Home-Start are seeking to appoint a new Breastfeeding Peer Supporter to join their team. 
The peer supporter will have experience of supporting new mothers with breastfeeding and will have office skills including experience with Microsoft Office.  
The post will be largely office based with responsibility for contacting mothers after discharge from hospital and in the ensuing days and weeks in order to offer phone support, arrange home-visits if needed and to signpost to community support groups.  Cover in the community and on the hospital ward may be required at times.  
The role will involve a range of administrative tasks, including collating and recording a variety of information, maintaining databases and producing regular monitoring reports.

This post is initially funded until 31 March 2014, continuation is subject to funding.

Closing date: 10 June.   Interviews: 19 June.

Hours of work are 25 hours per week.  Job share will be considered.  A Criminal Record Disclosure (Enhanced) will be required.
