Volunteers are vital to the life of Tameside, in shaping and delivering local services, building community cohesion and driving social change. The Tameside Strategic Partnership has a borough wide commitment to the importance of volunteering and aims to build a coherent partnership approach to promoting and sustaining volunteering and improving the volunteering experience for all involved. The development of a borough wide strategy is central to that commitment and a draft of this strategy is now ready.
The future of volunteering in Tameside will be strengthened and supported by the Volunteering Strategy. It was developed in consultation as part of Tameside’s first Volunteering Summit held in February 2010.

Please take some time to read the draft strategy, and to answer the ‘prompt’ questions. Views and recommendations will be incorporated into the final version which will be presented to Tameside Strategic Partnership in September and formally launched during Compact Week in November.
